Bits to Bots: Lessons in Arduino

poster page.png

In Project Invent’s “Lessons in Arduino” series, Program Manager Jerome Link will walk you through his experience learning to create with Arduino. To start, he’ll show you how to set up Arduino and problem solve issues with the Arduino IDE software. During the first three weeks, come check out some of the common error codes that come up, uses of libraries and examples to structure your code, and how to combine codes with a series of instructions.

Then, we’ll do some interactive challenges. For each challenge, Jerome will identify a task like “turning an Arduino into a musical instrument” and then walk through various approaches to completing the task. He’ll show how he researches the problem, how he sets up the code and Arduino schematics, and how to use that solution in other applications. For each of these challenges, we’ll give you the chance to respond and show us what you’ve made!

Finally, in preparation for week #10, viewers will have a chance to vote on a problem for Jerome to tackle in a grand finale Design Thinking challenge. He’ll design an Arduino-based solution to a problem and document his whole process for taking that solution “from napkin to prototype!”
